Community Land
Communities can own their own land and assets through the Community Right to Buy or through an Asset Transfer (from Public Authority to community). These are usually long processes and are only the beginning of the journey. Understanding the effectiveness of the governance and management of community owned land, and the factors that enhance or hamper this effectiveness, is important.
On this page we will also share research from our ‘sister’ project run by the James Hutton Institute, ‘Land Reform Futures’, which is looking more closely into this topic, as well as publish blogs and news articles based on our own work.
